Madama Butterfly Tickets - Royal Opera House

When Cio-Cio-San, a young geisha, marries American Naval Officer Pinkerton, she believes she has entered a real, and binding marriage for life. After forsaking both her community and religion, she finds out all too late that, for Pinkerton, their union is merely a brief illusion – ending with tragic consequences.

With a score that includes Butterfly’s aria, 'Un bel dì, the Humming Chorus, and vedremo' (‘One Fine Day’), Giacomo Puccini’s Madama Butterfly is both entrancing and ultimately heart-breaking. Patrice Caurier and Moshe Leiser's exquisite production at the Royal Opera House takes inspiration from European images of Japan in the 1900's.

Kevin John Edusei conducts with Hrachuhí Bassénz and Asmik Grigorian share the role of Cio-Cio-San.
